I had a chance to return to bbbbb's Dad's hometown back in Malacca over the weekend...

.
.
.
bbbbbb's family had a house over at Malacca (no picture taken... i;ve totally forgotten... just imagine a typical terrace house like any other.. thanks)
.
.
.
Anyway the car journey took almost 3 hours and we set off at 8.30pm on friday night after everyone's return from work...... 7 of us (bbbb, me, his two sis, bro and his parents) into his family car and off we went...........not much memories of the car ride except that it was bumpy and my ass burns from the long journey....
.
.
.
.
.
After what seems like a real long while later.... we finally stopover at our first destination..... it was bbbbbbb's dad's favourite Wanton mee
Just a quick picture of the store from the inside (i took the picture overseeing the opposite shop cos bbbb mention they were the only shop to have wireless to text me back when he went back for CNY)
.
.
.
The Wanton mee was so-so only .... my second attempt at eating it... the first time was the a road trip with bbbbb, his mum and his buddy for a quick weekend stay....
.
.
The only thing unforgetable was the aunty who sold the wanton mee.... her memory is awesome and she remembers all the order at the back of her mind ... including funny request such as (one bowl no chilli. one bowl less noodle... one bowl put Chicken feet... etc).. you may visit that place if you seek some cheap thrill from testing other's memor
.
.
.
BUT DONT I DIDNT WARN YOU... SHE HAD THE WORST TEMPER ON EARTH... SO DO NOT MESS WITH HER..

The next day... we were all up nearing afternoon..... the family wanted me to try one of the local food there call "DA-WANG-MIAN" i dont think any of you can imagine what it could taste like with the name only.... its a tiny eatery setup by a local family right inside their house..

car ride to the family's eatery

quick compilation of the environment.. at the front porch of the terrace house...

one tiny booth setup by the wall where the a few adult woman set to whip up some dishes.... i heard bbbbbbbb's mum ordered something like this.. (translate from Hokkien.. )
.
.
.
.
.
"3 Huge bowl of kway tiao/mee... 1 medium bowl of kway tiao/mee..... 2 small bowl of kway tiao/mee and 1 small bowl of bee hoon"
.
.
.
*apologies for the bee hoon's mine.. i dun take mee cant stand the smell
.
.
.
"2 big bowl of liao"

this is my "small "bowl... probably the size of a kok-kok-bowl back in the olden days... hope you can image
.
.
.
What might puzzle you a little is what is contain inside the noodle and what exactly are the "liao" being mention
.
.
.
.
keep guessing, you'll never get them right
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
still thinking? i finish the whole bowl forgetting to ask...
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
it tasted really good........ i later found out it contain.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Prawn head!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
yes you heard me right. it was prawn head being dip in flour and fried to the cripiest befor being dip into the soup the family made.... tasties thing i ever eaten (the crisp... not the soup)
.
.
i later ask a real stupid question that set bbbbbbb laughing a bit... "so who eats the prawn?!!!"
.
.
.
bbbbb's mum explain their supple of prawn head comes from other prawn supplier who only sells peeled prawn... so the "head" are hygenic... and tasty!
.
.
.
By afternoon we drove over to

Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall

for a little shopping and treatment... I suppose there's only three huge mall at Malacca. Parkson Mall (Mahkota shopping centre) and Jusco.... we cover a little of Mahkota and didnt do Jusco....
.
.
.
The ladies needed some mani/pedi treatment while the guys went on their shopping spree

this is bbbbbb's lilsis cam which we all adore... went along with her to get it and the picture are of superb quality... canon G12 $850 at comex..... i got her a colourful strap to match the camera and is left now for her to bling up the camera so it looks all perfect.....
.
.
.
i only did pedi cos i mess up mani real quick due to my love for washing (not yet a psychotic clean freak but almost there)
.
.
.
i had a layer of Gold glitter painted across my feet (no pic too since my feet are crazily ugly)... bbbbb's lilsis had her mani done in shades of pink glitter and bbbbbb's eldersis and mum both did 3-ply shades of Gold and purple on their feets... again no pictures cos i cannot imagine myself taking pic of other's feet... and i dun think anyone would like me doing it....
Charmine (bbbbbb lilsis) found me this images on the magazine.. and i love them to bits!
.
.
.
.
.
if only i had the patience to sit in a nail parlour for more than a hour without sulking and being fidgetive.... and if only all the manicurist are as good skilled at those in Japan... pretty isnt it?

another Hello-Kitty Chanel combi which i sooooooooo loved... bbbbbbb also agreed they look sooooooooo pretty tgr... argh! Where'e creativity of the young manicurist back here? its either flowers or bow here..... not me like!
.
.
.
.
we didnt win the guys in spending money since we were all stuck in the nail parlour..... both bbbbbb and his bro Aazac burn a hefty RM500 in a matter of an hour......
.
.
.
Levi jeans... Bonia shoes......watches...sunshades..... omg....

.
.
.
bbbbb almost got his hands on a beautiful watch but could bargain the price right so he didnt get them....

i know he is still thinking about it... so we are planning on another trip to source for that watch!
.
.
.
.
hungry after the shopping... we met the rest of his cousins for satay in the afternoon

what i really like about satay in Malacca is how each stick is of moderate size so you'll never feel tired chewing sticks after sticks of satay... the bite size satay was carefully grilled to goodness by an old man who fans away at the charcoal hours into the day... under the hot sun.....
.
.
.
trust me when i say each person eating 20 sticks are chicken feet... i had 17 sticks cos i wanted to save Timmy (thats the name of my tummy) for dinner later.....

.
..
The sauce is exceptional sweet mixed with grinded pineapple bits.. do head there of you like satay

the way it works in Malacca is the helper at the coffee shop goes round every table dropping about 15 sticks or more of the satay each time... you basically finish whatever is on the table and wait for the next round of satay they drop... up till the moment you surrender... you call upon them to collate the number of sticks you eat and den charge you accordingly.....
.
.
.
.
There were 2 table of us..... lotsa kids.. and we had 241 sticks!!!!! haha.. astonishing figure but bbbbbbb says he use to be able to eat up to 50 sticks alone when he was younger... so 241 was a small figure compare to his glory days (when he weight about 90kg or more)
.
.
.
also.. liang teh was a iconic drink in Malacca... they dont usually indicate what kind of liang teh is being served.. but very commonly found is the BA-BAO-CHA... good for a hot sunny day that risk dehydration... i would say it tasted very much like JiaJiaLiangteh in Singapore.....
.
.
.
we were still hunting for food by this point and bbbbb's dad drove us all to eat fishcake-tauGua dip in chilli sauce and rojak! by a road side make shift store....

.
.
as a tourist you'll probably never step into that place, for its filthy and the make shift store looks like its ready to crumple... but the food does taste really good

pardon the picture for i had set the iphone on the red mode and all tasty food pic turns out really bloody hahha.. but trust me when i say its YUMS!
.
.
.
We head back to his place for a short rest.... and not long after it was EATING again...! (Malacca is about Makan-makan-makan)
.
.
.
we drove over to a really wooooooluuuuuuu place for Zi-char (not much street lights) and had the typical zi-char you'll prolly eat here in SG.....
.
.
.
After dinner,,,,,,,, bbbbbbb's aunties came by with this------>

hum-chi-peng

and since we were all full from dinner.. this was kept for breakfast next morning.... we also went shopping at Jonker Street... like major Chinatown crowd every weekend..
and that sums up the night... i didnt buy much stuff except for a cute lil'ipod carrying case for lil'sis
.
.
.
Next day was also the last day we were at Malacca... bbbbbb's dad drove us to eat the local iconic food in Malacca.. Chendol!

again pardon me for the grainy pic due to colour wrongly set......

.
.
.
the chendol in Malacca is different from the ones at SG because the sugar tasted exceptionally fragrance (Gula Melaka are made in Malacca)and the red bean tasted really nice...
.
..
we spend the afternoon at

Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall

again cos bbbbbbb's sis and mum made an appointment for massage in the afternoon.. i also had my hair cut and treatment at an affordable rate of RM115 (thanks bbbb for the treat)/// the guys were tired from shopping this day and they chilled by Starbucks while waiting for us...
.
.
.
an additional happening during the Mall visit was a trip to the ladies... girls please warn to stay alert at the ladies because you are only allowed to queue at one cubicle (by your luck) and if the next cubicle is free you do not jump queue into that one that the lady that might come later have been queueing for....
.
.
.
i must have been super unlucky that day cos i pick a cubicle that a lady just entered with the intention to finish peeing fast so i can join the rest outside and i end up waiting for
.
.
.
.
.
30min!!!! (F-ish that lady seriously) and no she didnt faint inside she merely stayed in the cubicle and bath!
.
.
.
literally bath using the small hose provided in each cubicle if you need to clean ur ass after business...#@%$#^$%^&^%&^%&
.
.
.
EVERYONE ELSE THAT CAME AFTER ME LEFT BEFORE ME.. AND THAT HAPPEN FOR 6 FREAKING ROUND ...
.
.
.
dont ask me why i cannot switch queue or requeue... simple because the toilet attendant was watching and the freaking queue keeps coming in... and i cannot switch over...
.
..
i hate that part of the trip the most.. and i hate that FREAKY lady who bath using the hose for CLEANING YOUR FREAKING A**hole after business... whats her problem seriuosly
.
.
.
needless to say you should see bbbbbbbb's face when i finally came out... he was mad for waiting so long.. .but i was madder at my freaking experience.. and my freaking Pee!
.
.
.
anyway.... (gross you out by now)... we cleared the mall faster this time.. and off we head back to his place to pack up our stuff before setting out for dinner and the long journey back to SG...
.
.
dinner was at AMIGO at malacca (ask around for location.. the locals are familiar with that place)

Awesome mushroom soup that bbbbb and i shared...

what was suppose to be yummy Grilled Salmon turns out bloody after my iphone shots........
.
.
.
we took a 3.5hrs journey back to SG and that sums up the trip!
.
.
.
.
and since i told you i cut my hair (about 6 inches gone... thats the length of my middle finger plus my palm.........a huge chunk of hair offffffffffffffffffffffffff my head.... here's the new look

This was before i had the haircut.. taken by the street where we had our chendol
.
.
.
.
.
and this was after the haircut..... i push my side swipe hair to the front as bangs.. to give it a more wholesome look....
there! i still have my curls (cant get rid of them) so here;s whats left of my curls.... those by the side are no longer one full loop.. and those at the back (which i push to the side in the picture) and almost a loop)..... fringe are kept to the side so i didnt bother trimming my bangs (the weather's awfully humid to keep my bangs in place)

.
.
.
what do you think? should i straighten my hair?
.
.
.

Anyway yesterday was bbbbbbbb and my 32 monthsary of being together.. i know 32 is a random figure to be celebrating but since i am putting up at his place on this particular month.. i tot i should show his some love......
.
.
.
but first i should just pull this pic in to show off the new ring i bought which i absolutely adore....

i love its two sided and i either do a bling ring or black onyx ring depending on my moood that day.. it cost me $5 from scape flea outside Cineleisure.. go get it there!
.
.
.
i also bought a card and wrote some sweet message for my boy....

here's the collage i post on facebook to keep him anticipated...
.
..
i know how we all think card are meaningless and gift could be more worth it... but not to bbbbbb and i..... we send each other cards and letter ALOT back when he was in uk.... he even handmade me a card during my birthday...
.
.
we've kept all the card we gave to each other.. and he "claim" he still look through them sometimes (thou i am not sure myself)
.
.
.
anyway bbbbbbb happy Monthsary... another long long journey to go.. hope you aint bored yet...
