i've never really liken the idea of posting backdated entry cos the mood to talk about it is barely there..

However, since this year's birthday was an exceptionally different one, please allow me to bring you back to end January.......Where bbbbbbbbb, a.k.a Rodman.... plans a really nice weekend getaway for us both over at Conrad Continental Hotel Singapore.....

To start off, let me explain why we couldnt travel overseas for my birthday this year...... As you can probably tell by now, this is the final year of my study at SIM (if i dun fail any more subjects)

and bbbbb was strict in my study routine, keeping me vigil with burning the midnight oil (which i've taken a liking to since the weather can be sooooooo harsh in the day most of the time). Thus skipping a lesson was a no-no and in addition, bbbbbb had his piles and piles of projects to handle at work and putting it aside for a short getaway back in January wasnt possible.

If you had recall properly, end January was also the peak period all of us gather at home in preparation for the Chinese Lunar New year so....... we cannot be selfish to abandon the responsibility back home to enjoy my birthday.... oh well.. .

.
sucks to be born during New year you think? I thought soooo... the fortune teller once mention my-coming-into-the-world-on-lunar-new-year isnt exactly a good sign..... sigh!!!!!

Anyway....... back to the happy times... lunch was suppose to be some better food but i had class in the morning so everything got delayed.... we had plan for a better dinner instead thus lunch was my all-time favourite Xia0-guo-mian over at Marina Square......

Not too long after Charmine (bbbbbb's lilsis text to say the room was ready.... she works in Conrad =)

Jumping straight into the hotel suite... this is a business suite.... definitely better than a normal hotel suite.... and much more cosier.... (all thanks to Charmine and her "privileges")

What i really like most was the bathroom which i can conclude was much bigger than perhaps the room i'm putting up at....

On the left side of the bathroom is a WIDE mirror that oversees every corner of the bathroom.... the basin was stretch from the entrance allllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the way till the bathtub... more on it later...

jumping straight back into the room since i was overwhelm with excitement and cant wait to figure every corner of the room out.....

Can i exclaim how TALL the bed was..... NEVER in my life did i have to run and jump in order to get on top of the bed... if i hadnt tip-toe i reckon it would took me at least 20 seconds to struggle up the huge bed.......

a little cosy corner by one end of the bed where a really comfortable rest-chair was placed and there seats bbbbbbbb gleeming with delight watching me hop from one end of the room to another....

forced bbbbbb to take another pic of me and the bed so you can see how high the bed was exactly... till my timmy (my tummy has a name call Timmy) can?!?!?!?!?!??!

waited no further to jump right in and mess the very very neat bedsheet...

(am i the only one or do you also feel a bit of sadness when the neat and crease-free bedsheet is being messed up by yourself?)

and again the impatience sink in.. i got out of bed not too long after to explore more areas of the room

the walk way by the side was were the bathroom and door were located... you should also notice the huge plasma TV mounted to the wall..... business suite eh?!?!?! hahha.. most of the channel were CNN.......@$!%$^#64

ahaha.. i jump back onto the bed because i've missed out taking this splendid view in front of me when i lie on the bed..... esplanade... Meritus mandarine.... lotsa tall tall building.. MBS.. everything was nicely encapsulated within the window frame

Conrad Hotel had very very thoughtful staff who leaves you a teddy incase you business man cant fall asleep at night.. heeeheeee... besides the Teddy are real and tasty snacks like apple, pear, oranges and HANDMADE CHOCOLATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i head back to the bathroom to inspect every corner... exclaiming at every strange thing i could find there... i must have been an idiot cos i was REALLY delighted that they had placed a jar of sea salt there... like they would take care of every tiny needs of their customer (the toiletries are branded tooo... wahahaha)

the weather wasnt very welcoming but we could do with cosying up in the room.... sometimes watching tv and other times chatting with Charmine on the line.. hurhur..... or having her drop by the room to wash up.......

bbbbbbbbbbb brought balloon so we had a competition to blow them up at the fastest rate... bbbbb's afraid of balloon bursting (damn funny when i recall this) so most of the bigger balloon were blew by me.....

we went out to ta-bao food from our favourite local Makansutra...... initial idea was to enjoy a luxury candlelight dinner in the hotel itself... but since i wasnt exactly hungry and i felt a little sorry the poor boy had to fork out more money for my celebration... hence the change of plan...

it was still pouring outside but nuttin's as sweet as having your boyfriend shelter you in the rain and making sure you are safe and well....
I FEEL LOVED!!!!!!

We watch some movies over the TV and bbbbbb was soooooooo tired from all the planning that he dozed off before i could sleep... i think i spend the night watching more movies and playing on my iphone.. hahaha...

Next morning's breakfast was buffet from the Hotel.. can i recommend you all give the breakfast at Conrad a shot cos the food is REALLY nice?!?~?!~?

i would recommend the waffles in maple syrup and prata.... the egg is really fantastic too! No make up in the morning and my eyes were swelling from the lack of sleep

(those who know me well enough can vouch that i cannot sleep if i am not in a familiar environment... especially Paperstop whom i spend 3 night in BKK with... she tot i was a deity with my eyes wide open 3 nights in a row... hardly slept a wink)

Back at the room after breakfast and someone called on our door.... i open it to receive a tray of Red wine with compliment from Conrad to wish me a Happy Birthday.... THANK YOU CHARMINE! i bet it was one of her idea again!

The luxury of enjoying a glass of Red wine while snacking on a slice of their delicious chocolate.... this is Heaven!

Weeks ago, actually a pretty long back during CNY period, we were cordially invited to Ray's house (like every other CNY every year...)

it's part of our family culture to visit all the house that we were invited to,... and this year was no exception.....

it's been a while since i turn 24.. and when mum and dad was at this age years back both my brothers and i would have been born.....

and unlike them... i am still happily attached but with not much plan of getting hitched anytime soon... thus... to the elder i attack (like every other year) for a little addition to the meagre savings i have....

Lil'bro and cousins thanking one of the aunty that gave us a red packet... On the right side of the wall you'll see CuzRay family portrait.... Actually over at CuzRay place... almost every inch of their house is filled with heartwarming stuff,.. i remember there was a cerificate hung on the wall about how two person can stay faithful to each other by following the point that was stated.. each point was meaningful and true....

My cousin Melanie from Mum's side of the family was invited to join the fun over at Ray (who are relatives of my dad's side of the family) ... Also in the picture is my lil'sis and her bestfriend/cousin Roxanne..

Ray's mum cook really nice prawn noodle.. they also assure food was enough to go around by ordering two rounds of KFC..... does anyone agrees with me that eating fast food during CNY gives you a new sense of satisfaction...

Also happening at home

Mau invited her cliques over for a night of gathering (gambling in actual fact) and whip up a sumptous meal that was good enough for a lot more!!.. so we started ringing up the rest of Mum's side family (all who happens to stay within the vicinity) to drop by for dinner..


Gary was given task of setting up the Microphone KTV that our aunty had brought over,.. and he has definitely "start the ball rolling...."

It wasnt long before our family had to leave the guest behind for Bro and i had the strangest desire to "k-box the night away"... it finally took much effort to reserve a good 3 hours singing at Family KTV over at Chinatown... thus... we call on my elder bro and sis-in-law to join us..

As you can probably see... Lil's bro makes sure he looks as good as possible soonest he left the house... not too sure who he's trying to impress thou.....

Daddy leaving last... as usual... its his duty to make sure we've lock the door securely..

Towards the end of CNY

That was probably the best time of my CNY for bbbbbbbbbbb was on his way back from Malacca!!


I had intended to accompany Mum, Dad and Lil'sis to more house visiting before meeting bbbbbbb when he reach SG....


however, much to our disappointment the plan on visiting a family friend had to be delayed since they were out for the day.... we decided to drop by elder'bro & sis-in-law place for a while before moving over to the next destination....

Mum, being really satisfied with her attire for the day insist on taking lotsa pic.... Dad's wearing the polo tee i had bought him from UK last year..

HORI... the pretty much acknowledge grandson of Mum and Dad.. the darling of my bro/sis-in-law..... a super huge (in my opinion) Shih Tzu!

Last week was busy with all the activity going on... most importantly it was the final period of my working days over at Takasago, to which i've officially bid goodbye on Friday..


A really really really nice place to work, one of the best memories i shall keep... a place i;ve bond very very closely to since i was 19 going on 20..... its been a long time... and even the uncle there agree how they've seen me grow from a Xiao meimei till the lady i am today....

i am moving forward to a larger phase of my life, one that involves graduating from school and finally stepping foot as a "working woman"

hardest to bid good bye was this "partner-in-crime" of mine...to whom i wait aimlessly every morning.. rain or shine and even submitting to reporting late for work together... all because her contact lens refuses to cooperate, she's on a wardrobe malfunction, her alarm refuses to sound on time.... etc etc...

Paperstop and i started out as substitute partners... me taking over her duties after she leaves the contract, den she taking over my duties when i leaves the contract, then she becoming a permanent employee of Takasago, then me returning to finish a couple more contract with Takasago...

many missed chance of us ever meeting each other properly, but eventually becoming very good friend after having work together...

we also shared lotsa of common friends, and have been thru shitloads of rubbish together....
and rubbish is truly and understatement.. when you hang out with this lady.... you encounter ALL kinds of situation.. fainting moments, world feels topsy-turvy, cry pool of tears.. giggle till others request we shut up... and basically finishing each other sentence (usually works like magic when we make sarcastic remark.. wonder why,... )

anyhow.. all is back to basic now.. with me surviving on what meagre savings bbbbbbbb has help me save over the months... i'm currently putting up at his place... in his definition... a war-zone to which i will be mugging in ..

imagine Shaolin Shi fu hiding in a cove inside the waterfall for 7x7=49 days to master the shadow-kick-water stance... thats exactly what i am doing now.. except the stance i ought to master are words after words of theories, essay and diagrams..

weekend was spent studying school, shifting over to bbbbbbb's place.. and praying over at Loyang Tua Pek Kong temple for my final sem.

also we went over to the comex show where bbbbbb's lil'sis gotten herself a Canon Powershot G12... a really splendid compact DSLR which capture an image so sharply and then automatically enhance the colour quality of the picture.. Super tempting to get one too.. as soon as we sell off our Canon 450D baby.. that is

.all this time while bbbbb's bro, me and Charmine were busy eating our ramen at Ajisen..

Food was pretty acceptable... and i love my Teriyaki chicken dry ramen, which tasted as tasty as ever.... their Sushi, however, wasnt that appealing.. we were struggling to manage half a sushi each.. its no wonder why they are call "Ajisen Ramen" and not "Ajisen Sushi"

on a side note... alot of us are pretty affected by the situation over at Japan these few days.. i wont need to elaborate on the situation over there but i pray hard that all is not lost and the casualty be kept to as minimal as possible.. alot of my friend has relatives over there and the state of anxiety is really concerning..

That night bbbbbbbb cook up a sumptous dinner for us both, it was sambal fried rice for him and curry maggi with egg for us both. To balance the dinner he also whip up a combination of my favourite Enoki Mushroom and Xiao Bai cai..... and i spend the rest of the night studying..

Then came saturday where i am proud to announce i did my OTIA (Organisation Theory something something) pretty well..... i met up with bbbbbbbbbbbbbb and lao Zhang over at MBS

We seek bro-Gary's buddy help to purchase a sport shoe for Lao Zhang at a discounted price... afterwhich we roam around MBS a little before proceeding to Waraku for dinner
